This half-cylinder bisque vase draws inspiration from Florence, uniting the city’s cultural heritage with symbols of Italy. Its surface is inscribed with iconic motifs — pizza, ravioli, penne, spaghetti, and the Duomo — celebrating both the culinary and architectural treasures that defines Firenze.
On the reverse, the phrase “Cerca Trova” (“Seek and You Shall Find”) is inscribed. This enigmatic motto appears on a green battle flag within Giorgio Vasari’s fresco The Battle of Marciano (1565), located in the Hall of the Five Hundred (Salone dei Cinquecento) of the Palazzo Vecchio. Over centuries, the phrase has come to represent the Renaissance ideals of inquiry, discovery, and the pursuit of meaning beyond what is immediately visible.
The Cerca Trova Bisque Vase serves as both a decorative object and a thoughtful reminder of Florence’s enduring invitation to explore, reflect, and uncover beauty in unexpected places.
